Audio Help (FAQ)

How can I listen to Morning Prayer?

If you live in the north-central area of Pennsylania, tune your dial to Light for Life ... WJSA at 96.3 FM, 100.5 FM or 1600 AM. You can hear it each weekday morning at 6:15 and again at 10:00; Sunday mornings at 10:30.

Listen online to any episode up to two weeks after its air date, available for listeners with either broadband (e.g. DSL/Cable) or dial-up.

Hear it on the go, anywhere and any time, by downloading any episode up to two weeks after its air date. Once you have the file, you can listen to it on your computer or a portable MP3 player. Download episodes manually on the website, or subscribe to the Morning Prayer podcast.

What program do I need to listen online?

Dial-up users must have RealPlayer installed on their computer.

Broadband users can listen with a variety of audio programs, including iTunes, WinAmp, and RealPlayer.

How do I start an episode playing online?

Navigate to the episode you'd like to here on the Morning Prayer homepage using the episode calendar. Once you've found your desired episode, click on the "Dial-up" or "Broadband" button.

How do I download an episode?

Navigate to the episode you'd like to here on the Morning Prayer homepage using the episode calendar. Once you've found your desired episode, click on the "Download" button.

Why are the audio buttons greyed out, and why can't I click on them?

We are unable to archive the audio of Morning Prayer beyond two weeks after its air date. If the audio buttons are greyed out, the audio file is no longer available for listening or downloading.

When I click on a Listen Online button, I am asked to save a file or find a program to open it.

You probably don't have the necessary audio playing software installed on your computer. See "What program do I need to listen online?" for more details.

When I click the "Download" button, the audio begins playing in my browser.

Some web browsers are set up to play MP3s instead of downloading them. In this case, right click on "Download" instead of left clicking on it, and choose "Save Target As.." or "Save Link As.."

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a means of subscribing to an audio or video program series made available online. Subscribing to a podcast using podcast client software enables a user's computer to automatically discover and download new program episodes. Once the episode files are downloaded, they can be played on the user's computer, or loaded onto a portable MP3 player.

How do I subscribe to a podcast?

You'll first need to get podcast client software installed on your computer. The most well known podcast client and media player is Apple's iTunes, which works seamlessly to load podcast episodes onto a user's iPod. Another client is Juice.

My computer doesn't know what to do when I press the "Podcast" button.

Unfortunately, the only podcast subscription software that can load a podcast directly from a web browser is iTunes. If you are not using iTunes for your podcast subscriptions, you will need to copy and paste the following address into your podcast program. Refer to your podcast program's help files for assistance in subscribing.
