First Sunday after Trinity
Subject:
Grace and obedience.
Design for Worship:
The Design for Worship reminds us of our weakness and God's strength in doing good.
Epistle Lesson:
1 John 4: 13-24
Gospel Lesson:
Luke 16: 19-31
Revised Collect:
Almighty God, the strength of all who trust You; the weakness of the flesh leaves us helpless to do good without your help, which we ask in your mercy to grant us, that by your grace we may please you by keeping your commandments, in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Original Collect:
O God, the strength of all those who put their trust in thee; Mercifully accept our prayers; and because, through the weakness of our mortal nature, we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping thy commandment we may please thee, both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
