Subject:
The advent of Christ to the individual believer.
Design for Worship:
Call to Thankful Devotion.
Epistle Lesson:
Philippians 4: 4-7
Gospel Lesson:
John 1: 19-28
Revised Collect:
Lord, come among us with Your great might and powerfully assist us; for our sins and wickedness have crippled us so that we cannot run the race that is set before us; but Your bountiful grace and mercy can quickly help and deliver us; through the satisfaction of Your Son our Lord, to whom, with You and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever.
Original Collect:
O Lord, raise up, we pray thee, thy power, and come among us, and with great might succor us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness, we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us; through the satisfaction of thy Son our Lord, to whom with thee and the Holy Ghost, be honor and glory, world without end.
